Cake Boss Bakery

Carlo's City Hall Bake Shop in Hoboken is being overrun with tourists -- particularly those with a sweet tooth -- these days as TLC's hit reality show "Cake Boss'' continues to draw fans.

"I'd say every day we get anywhere from 80 to 150 people coming in or calling the store,'' the "Cake Boss'' himself, Buddy Valastro, tells Hoboken Now. "We've had people come from Nova Scotia, Alabama, Texas and Okinawa, Japan. ... They've seen the show and now they want us to sign autographs. They want to taste the cakes or meet the family."

The June 22 premiere was watched by 4.5 million people, Hoboken Now reports. Among women in the 18 to 34 age bracket (a sought-after demographic among TV producers), it was the second most watched show that night, coming in only behind the ratings behemoth "Jon and Kate Plus 8."

If you haven't seen it yet, you can catch up on the Monday night show starting at 7 tonight when a six-episode marathon begins.

Then at 10, check out the new installment, "Museum, Mistakes and Mother Mary.''

At 10:30, go to Hoboken Now for a recap and discussion.

"Cake Boss," as one TLC spokesperson puts it, is not a cooking show. It's a look at a real family running their small business -- and throwing icing at each other when the going gets rough.

Big sister Mary Sciarrone agrees.

"If it was just Buddy making cakes -- without people like me yelling at him,'' she asks, "how boring would that be?"
